A recent clinical study which documented sleep quality and anxiety in a final sample of 72 patients. The results demonstrated a positive relationship between the use of CBD and reported anxiety and quality of sleep.

Researchers found a decrease in anxiety was reported by 79.2% of patients throughout the study. Notably, throughout the remainder of the study, those same patients continued to experience those decreased levels of anxiety.

In reporting the quality of their sleep, results demonstrated that 66.7% of patients involved in this particular study reported experiences of improved sleep quality. Over time, however, those results tended to fluctuate.

Ultimately, the study was able to determine that there may be a benefit when it comes to CBD and the treatment of anxiety-related disorders. Further study is needed to gain more insight into the finer points on this topic, however, it seems likely that CBD may have some benefit on insomnia (which seems to be often related to anxiety, stress, and an inability to calm down).

  2. Keep the Television Out of the Bedroom: Stimulus control is all about training your mind to automatically associate your bedroom with sleep. In order to create this relationship, which hopefully triggers a sleep response, the individual should limit activities in the bedroom to those associated with sleeping and adhere to a strict sleep schedule.

Changing Your Thoughts and Behaviors: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) involves removing unhealthy thought patterns and beliefs surrounding sleep and replacing them with rational, positive thoughts. It also incorporates behavioral changes such as incorporating regular wake and sleep times. It can be a lot of work, but many people find it to be extremely effective.
